Leigha Perry, the Head Trainer of On The Bit has been an extraordinarily dedicated Arabian and Half Arabian rider and trainer for over 30 years. She was first introduced to riding horses at Castle Rock Arabians in Walnut Creek, CA, by Nancy Dupont, a renowned pioneer in horsemanship, where Perry entered the world of competitive trail riding at age nine. She competed extensively throughout her youth until meeting trainer Rob Bick, who suggested she try the show ring. Perry quickly fell in love with the horse show atmosphere and competed extensively in that arena. At the age of 18, she went from Groom to Assistant Trainer under Bick while competing at the national and local levels. Her first U.S. Nationals showing was in 1990, and she’s won numerous awards throughout her career. Her passion for horses, teaching and her compassion has made her the trainer she is today. Perry especially loves working with children and teens, helping develop the mutual, lifelong love between horses and their riders. Her motto is, "pride in the ride is forever!". Leigha is pictured here with her Australian Shepard, Jodie.
